Overview

Interactive conveyor-based installation developed for the Good Girl Lab event by Carolina Herrera, in collaboration with Cuatro Cuartos, combining industrial automation, motion control and gamified user interaction within a premium spatial environment.

Objective

Design a custom conveyor system capable of generating user engagement through real-time interaction, transforming product transport into a gamified experience aligned with brand identity.

System

A 27-meter closed-loop conveyor system, composed of multiple modular roller sections, was designed with a premium finish adapted to the brand’s visual language. The system is controlled by an industrial PC, integrating motion control, real-time interaction logic, LED lighting control and audio feedback into a unified architecture. Transported elements (perfume bottles) circulate continuously, while interaction points are distributed along the system.

Execution

At the core of the experience, a laser barrier sensor detects user input in real time through a timing-based interaction. When users trigger the system accurately, conveyor speed is dynamically adjusted and synchronized LED lighting responds instantly, reinforcing feedback through motion, light and sound. The system operates through zoned control, enabling localized behavior within a continuous flow, while maintaining full synchronization between transport, interaction and visual output.

Technology

  • Industrial PC-based control system
  • EtherCAT communication for variable speed drive control
  • Zoned motion control for modular conveyor system
  • Laser barrier sensor for real-time interaction
  • RGBW LED lighting system
  • Integrated audio feedback system
  • Custom mechanical design with premium finishing

Result

A fully integrated interactive system where industrial transport, real-time control and user interaction converge, transforming a conveyor into a gamified experience that increases engagement and reinforces product presence within a high-end event environment.
