Robotics design / Development

Developed in collaboration with Bagel Affairs for the Parfois pop-up store, this project features a robotic installation designed to operate continuously in a retail window environment, creating a 24/7 interactive experience.

At the core of the system is a robotic character, Mr. Butler, programmed to interact with a series of snow globes containing gifts. Using carefully designed motion sequences, the robot selects, handles and presents each object, generating a moment of anticipation and surprise for passersby.

A key aspect of the project was the development of organic, human-like motion, intentionally moving away from standard industrial robotic behavior. Movement paths and timings were crafted to feel natural and expressive, enhancing the emotional engagement of the interaction.

The entire system was developed and validated through advanced 3D simulation, allowing precise control over choreography, positioning and flow before physical deployment.

The result is a continuous robotic performance where motion design, interaction and spatial storytelling converge to create a refined and engaging retail experience.
